I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful young lady at three locations in the far west suburbs for a 1-2 hour long Senior Photography session in late summer. (My blog is new since then, and she has so many spectacular images, so I'm publishing them today.)

I hope you will see that my high school senior photography sessions are a personalized experience, showcasing a student's youth and beauty, as well as the special features that make each teen fabulous and unique.

In this case, a "special feature" is my Client's beloved dog, and -- clearly -- the feeling is mutual between person and pet!

For my Senior Session with this lovely young lady, our first location was Leroy Oaks Forest Preserve in St. Charles -- where there are generous tracts of open land, forested views and nicely kept old barns against which we were able to stage several casual "looks."

And a few more, before we got in the car to travel to our next location...

Peck Farm Park in Geneva was our next stop. I absolutely love this location! It is an old farm (the Peck family), now owned by the Geneva Park District, and almost appears to be set up for photography with its opportunities to incorporate nature into backgrounds. I always get a variety of backgrounds into my photos at Peck Farm Park, including at least a few of what I think of as "big sky" backgrounds.

Peck Farm Park includes an original silo and barn buildings that lend a rustic charm to a "casual look" Senior Photography session.

It's definitely a "plaid shirt look" kind of place! We took a few more pictures in a few more great places at Peck Farm, before moving on to our third and final stop...

Fermilab Natural Areas, one of my all-time favorite places to be! [Besides the fact that the federal government is doing groundbreaking physics research there, did you know there is a breathtaking expanse of (maintained) natural area, open to public use?] For my Senior Photography Sessions, these are backgrounds that you just won't find in modern day suburbia!

We probably could have kept on photographing for hours -- my Client certainly has a talent for posing (and being beautiful:)) -- but the day's grand finale was upon us. Something to know is that I purposely schedule many of my photography appointments for late afternoon / early evening, because that's when you get the best natural light and a warm, golden "glow."

When the weather is right (and I always work with the weather and will reschedule your appointment if it's inclement), the natural colors of a sunset come together in the background of your images and form a fantastic backdrop. Plus the fresh air of being outside keeps you energized and happy, and that shows in the images we create together, as Photographer and Client.

If you like my photography style, I would love to work with you! Nancy Reppe Photography is a small business with a personal touch. I am available for Senior Photography, Family Photography, Children's Portraits, Special Events and more. Please see my web site or contact me for more information.
